Stuffing Envelopes for Money – Legit or Not?

Have you wondered if you can really earn an income from home by stuffing envelopes for money? Are you questioning whether these opportunities are scams or legitimate work from home jobs?

There really do exist a few opportunities to earn some money by addressing envelopes. In some situations it may occur that a company will want their mail to go out with a hand-addressed envelope in an effort to make it look more personal, for example:

- Banks who send out credit cards to their customers that they may want disguised in an effort to reduce mail theft.

- Debt collection agencies will also at times use the hand-addressed envelope method for sending documents because those envelopes are more likely to be opened when hand-written rather than typed. Marketing companies may send out mail this way for the exact same reason.

Genuine opportunities for stuffing envelopes for money like the examples mentioned above are not very common, but they do exist. Yet most often when seeing an ad that says “work from home stuffing envelopes“, the advertisement is probably a scam so beware.

Here is how these scams usually operate:

You are told to purchase instructions which will cost you around $5 or $10 dollars, something which seems like a small investment. Once you have paid your hard earned cash, they tell you to place ads just like the one you answered, make copies of the very same letter you got, and send them out in envelopes to people who answer your ad and send you the same $5 or $10 just as you did. Do not waste your time with these types of scams as you will lose your money and worst, they are illegal in most of jurisdictions.

If you are still curious about a particular envelope-stuffing job, you can determine whether the ad you saw is a genuine opportunity or not by remembering the following:

- Scams usually ask you to send money upfront. Legitimate opportunities from companies trying to hire someone to address mail will never ask for money upfront.

- If a phone number is listed on the ad, you should call for more information and ask what the company name is. Once you have their name, check their rating with the Better Business Bureau.

If stuffing envelopes for money is no longer appealing, there are still many legitimate work from home opportunities you can consider. With a computer and an internet connection, there are various ways that you can earn money even without special qualifications or skills.

Filling out online paid surveys is one of the first things you can try. Look for the marketing research companies that are looking for customers willing to answer questions regarding their products. All they ask you to do is fill out a simple form online rather than answering a questionnaire through the mail, or speaking with a representative at your door. As compensation, they offer payment for the surveys that you complete. If you like voicing your opinion on products, you can get paid to answer surveys which will allow you to earn some extra cash without alot of effort.

You will also find websites online that will let you join and pay you to read emails. Most of the time the email will be an advertisement for something and you will have to click on their link and read through the ad for a certain amount of time to qualify for payment. When considering these opportunities get feedback on the companies before you sign up because they can sometimes be very slow to pay and may only provide small payouts for your time.
