Growing respect for what women had to contribute and advancing technology were two things that started to show mothers that they could expand their horizons.

It is no longer easy to categorize the work from home mom. These savvy women are journalists, web designers, marketing consultants and virtual assistants. They do business conference calls while spooning strained peas into the baby’s mouth. They stay up late and finish their business proposals while the children are nestled all snug in their beds. They stop what they are doing to wipe a runny nose, celebrate a milestone, and rock a child while singing softly to him. They are seen as women who have the best of both worlds, though in moments of exhaustion they may not be so quick to agree. Ask them the following day, though, and they’ll tell you that yes, it is all worth it.

It is no surprise that the Internet has been a significant factor in giving work from home moms more choices when it comes to making money. Businesses tend to do well when there is a lot of networking and the Internet opened up a myriad of networking avenues. These avenues have grown by leaps and bounds, and work from home mothers are taking advantage of this. For many women, it is now possible to run their businesses completely from their computers. The work from home mom is a solid contender in today’s business world. She is respected and admired. She works hard and makes a name for herself in the business world while still putting her family first.
